Difficult but Good!

I was talking with a friend who is committed to the ministry here at Verdugo Pines. We were discussing the challenges we are facing at camp this year, and the many problems all our guests are facing in their lives at home. All these things have formed a lot of hurdles for us all to overcome in this re-boot & jumpstarting of life; as we make our way through the obstacle course of 2022.

The worldwide economic situation has been brutal, we have had to make adjustments to our pricing and consequently we became the bearers of bad news to a lot of disappointed people. But, our price increases are only based upon increases from the last quarter of 2021, we have not taken into consideration the ongoing increases that we have all continued to wrestle with since Jan 1 of 2022. Meat and gasoline are BIG examples of commodities that have continued to rise steeply throughout this year. Regardless, we are committed to do our best to fill camp with campers, and move ahead with the Good Work we have been called to and trust that the Lord will help cover the deficiencies that may develop through this summer. We are also modifying different aspects of our facilities, and dining hall services, to help keep our prices down through this year.

We believe that God called our team here to Verdugo Pines Bible Camp to succeed, not fail. In the middle of their many battles with the Philistines, Samuel made it very clear that God was not going to abandon them. "Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”" 1 Sam 7:12 He has helped us in this camp ministry thus far, and he certainly will fulfill his purposes through us even in this difficult age! As my friend said, "I believe that 2022 will be a rough year, but, it will be a GOOD year! Amen!

Thank you for partnering with us in your Prayers, Presence & Financial Support!
