Position Purpose Statement
Serve in the maintenance department as assigned and support each department in reaching service goals to meet the needs of our guests.
Job Description
Answerable to: the Executive Director
Department: Maintenance
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in general maintenance projects .
Assist in summer work projects.
Assist in cleaning outdoor activity/event areas after use by guests.
Assist in preventative maintenance of camp facilities.
Assist in management and organization of maintenance equipment and inventory.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Housekeeping – This includes flipping cabins after a camp/retreat, and other facility cleaning.Â
On-Call - may be required to make service calls in the case of housekeeping/maintenance emergencies.Â
Activity Facilitator - may be required to help facilitate camp activities such as Archery, Paintball, the Rock Wall, etc.Â
Leadership
Demonstrate a servant leadership approach and help to direct summer staff and volunteers, by facilitating a supportive environment for spiritual formation of staff, and the internalization of VPBC’s Vision, Mission and Core Values.
Help manage and direct summer staff, support professional and personal development of the summer staff and volunteers through on job coaching, identification of learning and training needs and opportunities.
General
Perform any other tasks assigned by the Executive Director.
Requirements
Remain faithful to Personal Principles, Practices, and Policies as expressed in the VPBC Lifestyle Code of Conduct
Adhere to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance
Must be at least 16 years of age
Some on call nights and weekends may be required
Satisfactory completion of background investigationÂ
Verify employment eligibility through completion of USCIS Form I-9
Physical Demands
The physical environment requires the one holding this position to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions on uneven and hilly terrain. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be constantly moving, sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, bending, lifting furniture, climbing stairs, and balancing. There is a lot of repetitive motion. The employee must be able to safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
